"Bonkers!" Gourry said looking Lina in the eye.
"Food!" Lina said staring right back at him.
"Bonkers!"
"Food!"
"Bonkers!"
"Food!"
Myth just sat there hoping that Lina would win. Food she could handle, but Bonkers was something she wasn't looking forward to.
"We'll let Myth settle it!" Lina said. "Hey Myth, what do you wanna do?"
That one caught Myth by surprise, so she had to think for a second.
"Well, we could visit an old friend of mine. He lives just outside of town. He'd surely feed us... and to tell the truth he'd probably be willing to play Bonkers too." She said with a slight giggle.
That satisfied both Lina and Gourry, so they set off to visit Myth's friend.
"Myth! It's been centuries since I've seen you!" Said the tall man as he hugged Myth.
"It's great to see you again Adelus!" Myth said. "So you're the head of the house now?"
"Yep. And let me tell you, it's not easy to feed six brothers, ten sisters, 12 nephews, 10 nieces, and 16 kids. Oh yeah, and the misses too." Adelus said.
Lina was just a little bit surprised by all of this. Gourry of course was too busy playing with Adelus' pet bear to really take much notice.
"AHHHHHH! HELP ME! IT'S GONNA EAT ME!" Gourry screamed as he tried to crawl out from under the huge bear.
The bear just sat there slurping Gourry like a puppy.
"Elves?" "You know Elves?" Lina said to Myth.
"Well, what do you expect? Someone who lives as long as her is bound to make some odd friends!" Adelus said.
Adelus looked like he was about Gourry's age, he had long light brown hair, brown eyes. He wore a brown shirt and green pants.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! HELP! Gourry said as the bear playfully chased him around the living room. Adelus' family was having a very nice time laughing at Gourry, but they decided enough was enough and took the huge grizzly outside.
"Big bear, big bear." Gourry said twitching occasionally.
"Oh! I almost forgot! These are my friends, Gourry and Lina." Myth said.
"Hiya!" Adelus said with a huge smile.
"Hi" Lina said, still amazed to meet Elves.
"Big bear." Gourry replied.
They discussed told quest over dinner. Well, Myth did anyway. Lina was too busy taking full advantage of Adelus' ample food supply, and Gourry still had his eye on the bear.
"Wow, sounds like fun." Adelus said.
Myth sighed. "It's been.... exciting to say the least. Finding the rest of the Wingless and"
"No, no, no. Not the quest, I meant Bonkers!" Adelus corrected.
"Say this is really good stuff! Who's the cook?" Lina said taking a break from inhaling food.
"That's me!" Said the Elven woman sitting next to Lina. "I'm Adelus' wife, Ariana." She said while bottle feeding a baby.
"Nife to meep youf." Lina said while stuffing her mouth full of food. "Is that your baby?" Lina asked after swallowing the six pounds of food she'd been chewing.
"Yes, her name is Litana. Would you like to hold her?" Ariana asked.
"Uh, I don't know, I um." Lina said.
"Oh, come on. The worst she could do is wet her diaper." Ariana said jokingly.
"Well, Okay." Lina said.
Ariana gently handed Litana to Lina. Litana looked at her with her cute little green eyes and smiled and cooed.
"She likes me!" Lina said as she played with the baby.
*BONK!* "YEAH! I WIN!" Adelus shouted as he did a little victory dance over Gourry's unconscious body.
"You sure picked a really interesting husband." Myth said to Ariana.
"Oh, he may a little silly, but that's what I love about him!" Ariana said.
After dinner, Myth and Adelus talked about old times, and how life had been treating them. Gourry finally woke up. Lina sat by the fireplace with Ariana, rocking Litana.
"Cute baby!" Gourry said walking over to Lina and Ariana.
Gourry looked at Lina holding the baby. Could it ever happen? he asked himself.
Ariana noticed the look on Gourry's face and decided to leave the two alone with Litana for a little while. "So, do I make a good mommy?" Lina asked Gourry.
"You're a natural." Gourry replied.
"I want one, someday." Lina said as she rocked the sleeping child.
"Me too." Gourry said.
Lina and Gourry both looked at each other. Lina blushed a little, so did Gourry. They sat there together in the firelight. Until it was time to leave.
