The afternoon sun gazed heavily above the former threesome now only a pair as Jessie and Meowth walked side by side each hanging their heads in sorrow and sadness at the apparent loss of their friend and team mate..James..not to death..but to the heavy temptation of riches and money. Jessie sighed deeply as she looked straight ahead of her and down the pebble lined and dirt road not sure where she was going or where her life would be headed without the one she had grown to secretly love and care for more than anyone else in this world.
"It looks like James decided to hang up his Team Rocket costume up after all", Jessie spoke with a tone of sadness as she glanced down to Meowth who was trailing slightly behind in her shadow as he nodded.."yeah". Suddenly without warning the sun that had been shining upon the two was blocked by an object they failed to notice..their minds and hearts not on their surroundings, only on their friend and love.
"Prepare for trouble!",yelled out a familiar voice from seemingly nowhere as Jessie glanced around for the direction of the voice only to spot a balloon high over head her face brightened as her eyes teared up allowing a few tears of joy to flow down her soft and tender cheeks as she yelled back..
"Make it double!",with that she ran towards the balloon and James that were now just hovering above her and with a quick motion James took ahold of Jessie by her hand in a firm grip and pulled her into the balloon.
"HEY!!!!! You forgot Meowth again!!", yelled and screamed the often forgotten member of Team Rocket as he ran furiously towards them but the balloon sailed off higher and higher into the midday sky line soon disappearing behind the soft white clouds. Meowth simply looked up and a wide smile crossed his face.. "Maybe this time they will finally admit their feelings for each other..",he snickered gently knowing Jessie was secretly in love with James and James having confided in Meowth at one night he loved Jessie but wasn't sure if he could ever tell her.
Jessie was just looking deeply into James eyes her tears now dried up and although her heart was telling her one thing her mind would not allow herself to indulge her feelings to James..not yet..there would be a time and place...but when and where were the only two questions circling madly in her mind as she finally spoke after a few moments silence.
"I..though I lost you for good James".
"Well...they wouldn't give me the inheritance and it looks like we won't get rich this time but at least I have my freedom", smiles James a little wider than usual..his eyes gleaming with delight as he looked to Jessie..his heart raced faster wondering if now was the time to tell her he loved her..or maybe not.
"We may never be rich but at least we have our freedom..and having fun..Double Trouble Time",grinned Jessie as her hand extend out to James he grasped hers again tightly in more than a friendly way as her gloved finger trailed against the palm of his hand gently with a tender smile across her slender crimson lips.
"Double Trouble forever", smiled James happily as he felt her fingers against his hand a slight shiver ran through his body from head to toe. Fighting his urges to hold her tightly in his arms he simply held her hand tightly placing his other hand over hers and squeezing gently as his emerald eyes teared up ever so slightly but his willpower being so strong the tears never left his eyes. James allowed his eyes to wander to their hands for a moment and half closing his eyes dreamed of being with Jessie now and forever..but soon snapped back into reality and gazed softly to her blue eyes that had a gentleness he had rarely seen before.
"So what do we do now?",asked Jessie looking to James..looking entranced by him as if she was under some sort of spell.
"Well..now that we're back together..I mean..that Team Rocket is back..we better figure out a way to capture Pikachu once and for all..before word gets back to the Boss about our recent failures..", spoke James in a slightly stuttering voice..trying to cover his feelings and hide the fact his thoughts were on only Jessie and his love for the woman he almost lost so easily.
Jessie laughed maniacally but happily as her hand finally released from his..as it did her slender fingers trailed along his palm and to his wrist up to his upper arm before she places her hands at her hips once more.
"Well what are we waiting for? Let's go find those brats and get Pikachu before it's too late." James nodded in agreement and smiled warmly feeling Jessie's touch against his skin.
"Let's do it..",as James turned his back slightly Jessie grinned with delight placing her back at his knowing what his intentions were as she spoke.."To protect the world from devastation"..
"To unite all peoples within our nation",added James..,
"To denounce the evils of truth and love",Jessie said with a grin,
"To extend our reach to the stars above",smiled James as she gentle voice went through the air,

"Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light", Jessie smiled as she tilted her head gently to meet James eyes,
"Surrender now or prepare to fight",James finished as he pulled a scarlet red rose once more form nowhere and placed it gently in Jessie's hair and smiled sweetly to her. Jessie's eyes widened slightly to the loving gesture and blinked a few times happily as her lips turned into a gentle smile to James as she quietly whispered..
"Thank you..love..James". Smiling with happiness James placed his hand on her shoulder gently rubbing it a little she closed her eyes and places her hand on his holding tightly she looks up into his eyes and speaks in a teary broken voice..
"I missed you James..".
"I missed you too Jessie..but don't worry..because I promise you..I will never leave you again..ever..". The newly reunited team members drifted off in the balloon for hours simply looking at each other and enjoying the feelings that were going through their bodies and exchanged with each other. The sun started to go down in the distance..the yellows and oranges mixing in with the blues of the day sky creating a mixture of beautiful color the balloon drifted towards..a new day bringing new beginnings to two old friends.
